New Ways to Be A Part of MIA

17 Nov

I’m very excited to publicly announce a new development at MIA – a complete overhaul of our membership system!

Experience MIA as a member and support educational programming and acquisitions!

MIA has a group of extremely supportive and committed members already, but over the last year we realized that our membership system just wasn’t working for as many people as we wanted it to. We took some time to talk to our existing members and other visitors and realized that one size really does not fit all when it comes to our supporters.

So we are now very proud to unveil our brand new membership categories! We’ve tried to create more options and choice for our most popular membership categories, so it might be a little confusing at first. Here are the highlights:

  • Each membership category is entitled to the same fundamental benefits. Beyond unlimited museum admission, you are also entitled to reciprocal admissions to lots of other museums and galleries throughout Ontario (including the Bata Shoe Museum, Design Exchange, Textile Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art) with every single membership, as well as discounts as local shops and restaurants. So become a member and get more involved in the whole community of arts while supporting MIA!
  • Other membership categories have special benefits, like Family Memberships which now are not limited to simply two children per membership. These have been chosen based on feedback from our visitors.
  • For our Individual, Dual and Friend of the Museum members, we are now offering customized benefits packages. You can choose from four options: MIA Supporter (fundamental benefits only), Social Member (for members who want to meet other members), Lifelong Learner (for those who want to know more about the works on display) and Backstage Access (for those who want to know what goes on behind the scenes at MIA). Choose the option that fits with your interests!
  • Our Friend of the Museum membership is now the best deal going: in addition to basic reciprocal admissions and customizable benefits, you get reciprocal admissions to institutions across North America, including the Royal Ontario Museum and Gardiner Museum right here in Toronto – plus lots of other museum publications and merchandise!

Our memberships now have more value – and can help connect you with arts and culture across the city (and the province – and North America) more than ever before. Support MIA and become a member today!
