Playing Favourites: Paul C., July 24, 2011

25 Jul

Playing Favourites is a running series featuring MIA visitors, staff and volunteers with their favorite objects in our collection.  Playing Favourites is open to every person at MIA, so please let us know if you’d like to participate the next time you visit.

MIA visitor Paul with "Birds on Brances" (c. 1970s) by an unknown artist from Nunavik, Caribou antler, Stone, Sprott/MIA Collection

Where are you from?

Toronto

What brings you to MIA? Is this your first visit?

Yes, I was visiting the Harboufront.

Why is this your favourite piece in the collection?

It is an interesting use of the materials. It also bears a Tim Burton aesthetic and it is interesting that two artists from diverse backgrounds create art with a similar feeling.
